A Bossier City woman was arrested Wednesday night on drug charges, said Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen.
Shannon Ruth Montgomery, 41, of the 4800 block of Airline Drive, was taken into custody after Bossier Sheriff’s deputies were called to her residence by her husband, who said his wife had a drug problem. As they were approaching the house, deputies could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the residence.
During a search of the house, deputies recovered a marijuana smoking device, rolling papers and one pill identified as Oxycontin. Montgomery admitted the pipe was hers and that she smoked marijuana in it three to four months ago. She also said she does not have a prescription for the Oxycontin.
Montgomery was transported to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility and booked. She was charged with possession of Oxycontin, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond is pending.
