A Texas woman was arrested early Sunday morning for driving while intoxicated, said Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen.
Jennifer Jeanette Roy, 34, of Hooks, was taken into custody after a Bossier Sheriff’s deputy found her in the driver’s seat of her vehicle with the keys in the ignition and the engine running. She was parked at a gas station at the intersection of Airline and Wemple, an hour after the store had closed at midnight.
When the deputy approached the driver’s window, he detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. Roy told the deputy she had consumed three glasses of wine and driven to Bossier Parish from Shreveport. She thought Wemple Road was Linton Road.
When she was asked to exit the vehicle, she replied, “I’m not blowing anything.” She submitted to and performed poorly on a field sobriety test, and she refused to submit an Intoxilyzer sample.
Roy was transported to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility and booked. Her bond was set at $1,000.
