Texas Man Arrested for DWI
5/18/2010
| | A Texas man was arrested early this morning for third-offense driving while intoxicated, driving under suspension and for having no license plate lights, said Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen. Christopher Paul Turnage, 26, of Waskom, was taken into custody after he was observed traveling south on Airline Drive with no license plate lights. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with Turnage. The Bossier Sheriff’s deputy who made the stop saw that Turnage had bloodshot and watery eyes, slurred speech and that he emitted the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. He admitted to consuming “a lot” while riding his jet ski earlier in the evening. He submitted to and performed very poorly on a field sobriety test and refused to submit an Intoxilyzer sample. A check through Bossier Sheriff’s dispatch showed that Turnage’s driver’s license was suspended because of unpaid fines. Turnage was transported to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility and booked. His bond is pending.
