Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen, Bossier City Police Chief Shane McWilliams and Louisiana State Police Troop G Commander, Captain Tom Madden, say, in a joint operation, representatives from their agencies fanned out across Bossier Parish this morning to conduct raids on six stores. All three agencies participated in an aggressive, eight-month investigation that led to the raids, which started at about 10:00 a.m. Warrants were served for illegal use of counterfeit trademark, money laundering, racketeering and drug charges. “I cannot thank the Bossier City Police Department and Troop G enough,” said Deen. “They were absolutely critical to the success of this operation. This is a perfect example of how law enforcement works together to enhance public safety in Bossier Parish.” “Representatives of all three agencies put in many long hours to bring these cases together,” said McWilliams. “It was very complicated, but this multi-agency operation worked to perfection.” “Public safety and good law enforcement are always the highest priorities with the Bossier Sheriff’s Office, the Bossier City Police Department and Troop G,” said Madden. “With that in mind, deputies, the police and our troopers worked hand-in-hand in this operation to put these cases together and the message is clear—if you break the law in Bossier Parish, you will pay the price.” Investigators say individuals in some of these stores were selling counterfeit, name brand shirts, caps and shoes at well below market value. In other stores, drug paraphernalia was being sold. At one store in particular, salvia, a hallucinogenic plant, was being unlawfully distributed. The stores where the raids were conducted were: Hip Hop City, 1632 Barksdale Boulevard in Bossier City, Otto’s Citgo, 1995 Airline Drive in Bossier City, Pro Beauty Supply, 825 Benton Road, in Bossier City, Jubilee Ride U.S.A., 1300 Barksdale Boulevard in Bossier City, Foodtown, 1918 Benton Road in Bossier City, and Kings Korner, 756 Highway 80 in Haughton. Investigators say, during the course of the investigation, attempts were made to buy counterfeit materials in every convenience store in the parish, but these six were the only locations where those fake items and drug paraphernalia were being sold. So far, those arrested at Foodtown and charged with distribution of drug paraphernalia include: Kashif Ali, 24, of the 1100 block of Boulevard in Shreveport; Peggy Cherry Passmore, 34, of the 2300 block of Broadway in Bossier City; and Paula Housley, 37, of the 2600 block of Northside Drive in Bossier City.
