Texas Man Arrested for D.W.I.

6/10/2010

A Texas man was arrested early Wednesday morning for driving while intoxicated, speeding, for having no driver’s license on his person and for having an expired driver’s license, said Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen.

Jeff Allen Jackson, 48, of Highlands, Texas, was taken into custody after he was clocked traveling at 70 miles per hour in a 60-mile-per-hour zone on I-20 just after midnight. Jackson, who did not have a driver’s license with him, had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person and breath as he talked to a Bossier Sheriff’s deputy. Jackson had red, bloodshot eyes and appeared uneasy on his feet.

Jackson told the deputy he had consumed 3 or 4 beers earlier, and he performed poorly on a field sobriety test. He was taken to the Haughton Police Department where he blew .104% blood alcohol content on the Intoxilyzer.

Jackson was transported to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility and booked. His bond was set at $1,350.
